Subject: The Karmic Secret of Blood Transfusions

"Urusvati knows about the problems involved in the transfusion of blood. The physical properties of the blood are already being taken into account, but these are primitive considerations, and two additional aspects should be mentioned. It will soon be learned that the psychic quality of blood is of particular importance, and the time will come when its karmic condition will also be taken into account. Only by attention to all three aspects will the right results be obtained.

The ethnic characteristics of blood become less evident as the nations are mixed. But a reading of the aura will reveal other, psychic differences. Karmic harmony between the donor and the recipient is necessary, therefore the transfusion of blood of close relatives may not be the best. People will need to discern the karmic connections, and in this task astrology and clairvoyance will be useful aids." — Supermundane, verse 422

COMMENTARY:

This paragraph from Supermundane offers a superb, esoteric perspective on human connection and healing. While modern medicine relies heavily on the biological mechanics of blood typing—which the paragraph acknowledges as necessary but “primitive”—this verse invites us to consider the unseen dimensions of our physical bodies. It suggests that our blood carries not just our DNA, but our unique psychic energy and history of the divine spark. In this view, a medical procedure like a transfusion is not merely a physical transfer of cells, but a profound, energetic blending of two individual life forces.

The most striking concept here is the idea of “karmic harmony.” The teaching proposes that true compatibility goes beyond genetics, which is why close relatives might not always be the best blood-type match. Instead, it emphasizes a deeper, spiritual resonance between the donor and recipient. By mentioning the future use of tools like the reading of the aura and astrology, the text anticipates a highly holistic approach to medicine where healing addresses the whole person—aligning physical treatments with the patient’s karmic blueprint.

For our own lives and relationships, the broader philosophical takeaway is a beautiful reminder of our subtle interconnections. It highlights that true harmony is rooted in an alignment of energy and spirit, moving beyond mere physical proximity or superficial associations. It gently encourages us to be mindful of the “psychic quality” we bring into our interactions with others, reminding us that our most profound and supportive connections often stem from a deep, unseen resonance and a genuine karmic alignment.

From Agni Yoga, “The sole bridge between the spirit’s understanding and the acceptance of the earthly plane is the white blood cell. You know all the conflict that accompanies the cells’ existence. Being subject to the forces of earth and yet bearing the knowledge of the spirit, do not the white blood cells seem to you like the White Brothers? That is why it is so hard to attain harmony on the Earth. To work where spirit has descended to matter, you have to meet the conditions of both planes. You must not withdraw from earth, yet you have to abide in spirit.” [Leaves II, 91]

Blood, the physical expression of the life energy in our system, our own white blood cells play a crucial role in the immune system, primarily defending the body against infections and diseases. It brings brings some comfort to think about or imagine the White Brothers pulsing through our veins and heart as a shield. This post brought to mind Vedic medicine, “whose essence remains useful, and attention must also be paid to the conditions of cosmic chemistry.” [Agni Yoga, 585].

As science slowly matures, new dimensions in healing advance as the human consciousness broadens and the origins of disease are better understood. For example, not only do we breathe physically, but also emotionally and mentally. As esoteric healing comes more and more into the forefront, humanity must begin to behold the true expression of health and the healing of our bodies and our beloved planet. For there is no separating the two.

As was shared, “Aligning the patient’s physical treatments with the patient’s karmic blueprint.” This is the future healing that will wash away the seeds of dis-ease to an accelerated path of evolution and liberation, through clairvoyance and clairaudience. [Higher sight and Higher hearing]. We see glimpses of this now on the earthly plane, but one cannot help but realize the healing that takes place on subjective planes and how active it must be.

On Joy and Healing, from the Teaching: "Through waves of joy a person [man] reaches the higher consciousness of people. Such thoughts are very penetrative and have a very high-level frequency. They do not get lost in a chaotic space, but they force their way to reach their destination.

“A joyful person makes many invisible friends. The people of the subjective world love the emanations, colors, fragrances, lights, and sounds of a joyful person. They receive nourishment and direction through the waves of joy, and in turn they receive blessings of many kinds. One receives greater inspirations which expand one’s consciousness and therefore builds greater links with superhuman evolutions, and thus he becomes a more harmonious part in the symphony of Cosmos.”

As today and future physicians/healers awaken in consciousness and healing methods, including the rays, evolve and progress, the whole outdated system of education, globally, will be unrecognizable by today’s standards. There is much to consider when each cell, each atom is evolving.

It is truly so beautiful to think of the interplay between the worlds, and the subtle interconnections that enhance healing, revealing the causes and effects. When medical procedures are not merely physical but more holistic, harmonious, and a balanced understanding of the total chemistry and karma of a person, the remedy or treatment can be applied by a physician who is pure and collaborates with Hierarchy. In addition, the Infinite work of the Roerichs and the Urusvati Institute would be a worthy study, as well.

As The Christ said, “Physician Heal Thyself.”

Such very important medical considerations are pointed out in the A.Y. teachings especially this sloka discussed by Joleen. What’s perhaps just as disturbing is that its now somewhat common medical practice to utilize pig-to-human transplants, called xenotransplantation, in bioprosthetic heart valve replacements in humans as well as sometimes using pig-derived tissue for human skin grafts.

We hear so much about the miracles of modern medicine, especially from the phamaceutical companies, yet many of our current medical practices will seem quite primitive compared to what D.K. has told us regarding healing with light and music in the future. Even the longtime medical practice, common in Tibet, of routinely checking a patient’s five medical pulses in order to begin to understand the nature of a patient’s illness is virtually unknown in most of the ‘advanced’ countries of the world. Before rushing to blood draws, X-rays, CT scans, MRI’s, or PET scans (all of which can be quite expensive) doesn’t it make much more sense to simply start with a gentle non-intrusive method?

Warm regards,

Thank you for your posting, Saul. Your insights brought a specific memory to mind.

When I was in Mongolia, a dear friend of mine became quite ill while there. Our Lama notified the country’s top diagnostician—a Mongolian Tibetan Lama—who came to her side almost immediately. Interestingly, he utilized the exact diagnostic technique you mentioned. Afterward, he instructed his nurse to prepare a specialized herbal compound to heal her stomach.

He was honest with her, advising that her condition was serious. However, he assured her that committing to the herbal compound and a special tea would heal her. He provided enough carefully prepared herbal packets to last three full months, and almost immediately, my friend began to recover and feel better.

Sadly, upon returning to the States, she left the herbs behind. Her illness returned, and it was cancer. The Tibetan Mongolian doctor was contacted. He said, “yes, that is correct.” Let me send more herbs, she will be healed. But it was too late, by the time the herbs arrived in the states she was being treated by local doctors and traditional treatment. Had she continued taking the herbs, would she have survived? I don’t know, but the initial and almost immediate cure indicated healing.

The paragraph and commentaries encourage so much thinking beyond blood-type compatibility. It is amazing to think about real advancements in the medical field when karmic harmony between the donor and recipient is taken into account in blood transfusions aided by esoteric astrology and clairvoyance.

The paragraph inspired a lot of thinking about the heart’s role in processing the blood. As a vital organ, the heart’s arduous responsibility is to pump the blood outwards to our extremities. It simultaneously magnetises the blood back into itself for renewal. It is another level again to consider the blood’s psychic quality as arising from the heart’s flame “colouring” it with virtues, light, power, and life. The blood now takes on greater significance as a sacred carrier of the heart’s fire and psychic energy. The paragraph therefore indicates the unseen implications of blood transfusions which are worthy of deep consideration and collaboration.

The paragraph also inspired a deeper appreciation of why it is important to guard the heart, the impact of the flame upon our interactions; and not fall prey to forces that vitiate the blood. It also inspired thought of the pure love of Great Ones and how Their blood carries perfected fire that gives the ultimate divine blood transfusion to humanity. As sacrificial fire directed outwards, the psychic condition of spiritual blood burns away impurities, breaks karmic chains, protects, and liberates humanity from darkness. It is inspiring to think about being a future container for blood so pure and luminous that it is a conduit for Higher Energies.

A small sidenote: In contrast to blood transfusions, the ancient healing science of Ayurveda offers the purification method of bloodletting (raktamoksha) for disturbances in the blood. The post revived a memory of attending an Ayurvedic hospital in Kerala where this method was administered (via leeches) on heart patients. It made me think that Ayurvedic seers used bloodletting as a means to improve the blood’s karmic condition, and even its psychic quality.

In relation to Saul’s note about pulse diagnosis, I understand it to be the skill of a highly attained physician. It is a reminder that Great Ones are divine physicians guiding us and offering their Agni in many healing ways so that humanity’s flame never goes out.

Thank you for the opportunity to think together in inspired ways with Teachings that guide our discernment.

Love,

Annakama
